Overview
There’s lots for families and young people to enjoy at Bletchley Park this summer

From family multimedia guides to top secret mission packs – and a new exhibition on smart technology – Bletchley Park’s spacious grounds and reassuring safety measures make it the perfect place to enjoy a full day out, discovering a once secret chapter of Britain’s World War Two history. Under 12s visit for free and two discounted family tickets are available (all visitors must pre-book).

New for summer 2020 is a free special arty puzzle piece challenge – download and print* the new puzzle trail before you visit and find the puzzle pieces hidden around the grounds. Can you follow the clues and piece them together to figure out the full picture? Families can also download online free new activity sheets giving young people a chance to learn more about the many different roles fulfilled by the thousands of dedicated women and men who worked for Bletchley Park. Perfect for those visiting or looking for something to do at home.

Rebecca Foy, Director of Public Engagement at Bletchley Park Trust said: “Whether you’re looking to fill an afternoon, or after a whole day out, we’ve got a lot to see and do at Bletchley Park for families. Our new free family puzzle trail is the perfect excuse to explore our beautiful outdoor spaces whilst learning something new. Tickets are limited as part of our safety measures so book early to avoid disappointment.”

Now an independent museum and visitor attraction, Bletchley Park was the secret WW2 home of Britain’s Government Code and Cypher School (modern day GCHQ), where vital signals intelligence was produced that directly impacted on those on the front line. Innovative, pioneering technology invented here to break enemy ciphers, most famously the Enigma machine, continue to impact on our daily lives today.

With new safety measures, and spacious grounds, families can enjoy exploring restored codebreaking huts, interactive displays and exhibitions, outdoor play area and pick up delicious food and drink from our Hut 4 café or new pop-up kiosk to enjoy in the deckchairs or picnic tables on the lawns. All visitors must pre-book a timed entry slot online. Local residents living within a 10 mile radius can enjoy 50% off admission price.

Bletchley Park has received Visit Britain’s ‘We’re Good to Go’ accreditation, so visitors can feel assured that all safety and hygiene measures are in place for an enjoyable day out.

*limited print outs of the new art puzzle trail and pencils will be available on site. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own pencils and print at home if they can.
