Father Christmas

Visiting a Christmas grotto with its festive music, colourful lights and friendly elves is a highlight for many children at Christmas time, but for some, it can prove to be an overwhelming experience.

To make sure every child has the chance to celebrate the festive season here at Bletchley Park, we welcome children and their families to visit our unique relaxed Vintage Christmas Grotto experience to meet Father Christmas! Our fully trained team will make sure children have a magical meeting with Father Christmas in our beautifully decorated Mansion, where they’ll receive a lovely Christmas gift to take home.

This experience is appropriate for children on the autistic spectrum, as well as children with sensory conditions, who are neurodiverse or have other additional needs. Timeslots are booked to ensure waiting times are minimal, and families can request to have lighting adjusted and music turned off according to their children’s needs. We will provide a sensory map and social story in advance of the day to support the visit so families know exactly what to expect.

Don’t forget to collect a free puzzle trail from admissions!

Pop into our Hut 4 Café or our Block C Coffee Shop to warm up with a hot drink and a choice of festive treats.

The Relaxed Vintage Christmas Grotto will be open on 30 November, with slots available between 10.00 and 15.00. Subject to availability. Booking is essential. To book your place and discuss your child’s requirements, please ring our Bookings Team on 01908 272673.

Please note:
Our Father Christmas Grotto Experience is located within Bletchley Park’s beautiful Mansion. To access the museum, including the Mansion, accompanying adults will need to purchase standard admission tickets. All admission tickets are annual season tickets. Anyone with a valid season ticket does not need to re-purchase them. Children must be accompanied by an adult and have a ticket (£14 per child) for the Vintage Christmas Grotto.
